CAN YOU DIGGIT!
CHEESE&BEER VOL.2 OPEN TO ANY BANDS soon!!!
My name is Bill Arthur i am a musician from Milwaukee Wisconsin some of you
might know me from the band TEST PILOT ,over the past 10 years ive been on
and off playing shows and making great friends in the music world but one thing
that always concerned me and that was the lack of musicians support for other
musicians yeah there is the ocassional show that has a great turn out but its
always the same people. Now dont get me wrong! all those people are awsome
and loyal but it doesnt help the building of a fan base for a hard working group
.In my opinion it shouldnt matter what style of music our bands play we should
start looking at a bigger picture and that is getting together and doing shows
without discrimenation twards other styles so fuckin what! if your a metalhead
or a punkrocker get in contact with that emo band even if thats not your kind of
music there is shit loads kids out there that love all these styles and may never
get a chance to see and love your band until you play out of that box ,and the
same applies the other way . I feel by getting together and becoming a union of
bands that all know each other and play together regularly ,will in the future
create a big diference in turn outs at shows, album sales, friends and an actual
music scene in milwaukee, madison, greenbay and all surrounding cities here in
wisconsin and the world abroad.
...With that said i would like to invite any bands who feel that what i have said is
worth a try to become apart of the cheese and beer volume 2 compilation ,any
style from jazz to hip hop from metal to emo from punk rock to funk rock so on
and so on theres no label no suit and ties to answer to theres no hidden
obligations just a you and several other musicians/bands getting together and
supporting this project.
now i know your saying...what is this shit going to cost?
i have figured out that if i can get 20 bands for this compilation it would cost
3000 dollars to put out 2000 cds, magazine ads, promos and web ads that
means each band would have to raise 150 dollars if theres 4 people in you
band thats only 35.5 bucks a person which i feel is a good deal for your music to
be on 2000 cds agreed. after i get 20 bands confirmed slots on the cd i will hold
a quick meeting at a local bar or club (or on the phone for those band out of
state or under age)to go over release dates other details .(best route fro the sign
up is is P.O box 6 South Milwaukee WI 53172 go to the main page and click the
vol.2 logo and get involved)
i will also be printing up a easy no bull contract basicly stating that you have paid
you 150 to be on the cd and it will confirm that you will recieve 100 of the 2000
cds on the date which will be determend as soon as all bands are confirmed .
why is it called cheese and beer?
because plain and simple most people only associate Wisconsin (and most of
the midwest)with beer drinking cheese eating yokals which we all know is not
completely true, there is a lot more to our great midwest ..
when will the cd be released you ask? well that will be established as soon as
all bands are confirmed ,
do we pay any thing after we get our 100 cds?
no way no how im not in any way shape or form trying to make a personal profit
the 150 you pay is the only thing you pay i want each band to sell there cds and
make there money back lets say you decide to sell them for 10 bucks a pop you
get 1000 dollars for new mics, a p.a ,beer or what ever you may spend it on. but
keep in mind if this works out as well as i hope it will, there will be more
compilations put out so you may want to save a 150 of your profit to do another
comp but thats up to you.
why should i get involved when i could put a hundred cds out myself?
it simple think about it you could put out 100 cds on your own which you should
do or have done at some point .. but let me say from experence that it is hard as
hell to sell cds when its just a few guys working at it thats why this project is key
there will be 20 bands lets say the average of 4 people a band with 20 bands
thats 80 people out there seling your music. look tada! you now have a street
team of 80 people selling cds with your band featured on it!!!.
YO...its not rocket science player!.
look i know its hard to trust people these days and that probably why you are not
sure about dishing out 150 bucks... But to me getting bands to come together is
the first step so even if you dont want to get in on this cd send me your show
dates and i will post them on our site any way i can help i will and keep in mind
other bands that you might not ever see your self playing with might have a fan
that would be touched or moved by your music .
so with all this said rock on and get
connected....and feel free to contact vol.1 bands and ask them about this
project!!!
cheers- Bill Arthur (cheese and beer)
